Sharing

Sharing

Every site can have a public, read-only dashboard at an unguessable link. Anyone with the link sees your traffic without an account. Use it for open startups, client reports or a team wall screen.

Turn it on#

  1. Open Settings, Sharing

Each site has its own switch.

  2. Flip the switch

Pulse creates a random link like /share/<token> and shows it with a Copy button. The site is marked Public.

  3. Turn it off any time

The link stops working immediately and shows “This link isn't available”. Turning it on again creates a new link; the old one never comes back.

What people see#

ShownNot shown
The Analytics page: visitors, pageviews, buy clicks, the chart, and the Sources, Pages, Locations and Devices lists.Sales and revenue (unless you turn them on), recent sales, product names, emails, notes.
Date range and filter controls, so viewers can explore.Realtime, visitors, funnels, goals, mentions, settings, API keys, app usage.

Revenue is hidden by default. Turn on Show revenue on this link under Settings, Sharing to add sales, revenue, the revenue tabs and the revenue mix. Even then no order ids, product names or emails are shared. A viewer cannot change anything.

Embed it#

Share pages can be embedded in other sites. Every other page in Pulse refuses framing.

html
<iframe src="https://YOUR_PULSE_DOMAIN/share/YOUR_TOKEN" title="Analytics" width="100%" height="900" style="border:0"></iframe>

Privacy of the link#

  • Share pages ask search engines not to index them.
  • The link is a bearer secret: anyone who has it can look. Treat it like a password for numbers, and turn it off if it leaks.
  • Pulse limits how often one IP address can load a shared dashboard.

Common issues#

The link says it is not available
Sharing is off for that site, or the link was regenerated. Open Settings, Sharing for the current link.
Revenue is missing on the shared page
It is off by default. Turn on Show revenue on this link under Settings, Sharing.
The shared page is not embedding
Use the /share/… address itself; other Pulse pages block embedding on purpose.
