Plans & limits
Every plan has every feature. You choose how many sites and how much traffic. The live prices are on the pricing page; this page explains how the limits work.
The plans#
| Plan | Price | Sites | Events a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trial | Free for 14 days | 10 | 100,000 |
| Starter | $9 a month | 1 | 25,000 |
| Growth | $19 a month | 10 | 100,000 |
| Scale | $39 a month | Up to 50 | 500,000 |
- Yearly billing costs ten months for twelve. It is offered for a plan only when that yearly option is set up on the server.
- Lifetime is a one-time plan with 10 sites and 100,000 events a month.
- The trial has Growth limits, needs no credit card and starts with your first collected visit, not on the day you sign up. If no event arrives within 7 days of signing up, the trial instead ends 14 days after signup.
- Importing an Umami site is free on every plan, but the site counts toward your site limit.
What counts as an event#
A pageview or a custom event, including the automatic download and outbound events. Orders synced from your payment provider are not events. Pulse counts events across all your sites for the current calendar month (UTC) and resets on the first of the month. Settings, Billing shows the meter.
Going over#
The site limit is a hard stop: adding a site beyond your plan shows “Your plan includes N sites” and asks you to upgrade. No hosted account can have more than 50 sites; a self-hosted install without billing has no site limit.
Self-hosted#
On your own server there is no billing and no limit unless you set up Pulse's own Lemon Squeezy variables. See self-hosting.
Common issues#
- How do I see how many events I used?
- Settings, Billing shows events this month against your allowance, and when it resets.
- Can I reduce my event count?
- Turn off automatic link events with
data-auto="false", and track only the custom events you will use. See custom events. - Are bots counted?
- No. Known crawlers and automation are dropped before anything is stored.
- What happens when the trial ends?
- The sidebar shows how many trial days are left and, in the last days, asks you to pick a plan. Choose one in Settings, Billing.
